What is light?

The readings in this unit explain light and shadows from several perspectives. Readings span four genres: myth, informational text, short story, and photo-essay. Students learn new vocabulary words for describing light, and they analyze words through context clues, phonics, and using a dictionary. Reading comprehension strategies covered in this unit include: predict, preview and skim, and visualize. Students will develop the following grammar skills: order of adjectives, prepositions of place, and adjective clauses.
